William A PALMER

1Trenton Register, Obituary for William A. Palmer Died Tuesday. "Trenton Register
W. A. PALMER DIED TUESDAY
    The end of life on this earth came early Thursday morning to W. A.
Palmer, one of the very early settlers of this county.  Mr. Palmer was
nearly 89 years old and had lived a very good and useful life.  

He passed away while still living on the old home, which he filed upon in 1886.  This
Homestead is located on the Driftwood.  Here Mr. Palmer has spent 47 years
of his life practically in the same house.  Since Mrs. Palmer died, some
Seven or eight years ago, his son, W. D. has lived with him, kept house and
done the farm work.  A daughter, Mrs. E. C. Randall of southeast of
Culbertson also survives.
    Mr. Palmer was county surveyor of Hitchcock County for a number of
Years, having been re-elected several times.  He was a great reader and kept
well posted on current news by reading.  He was also a good visitor and has
spent many pleasant hours in the Republican Leader office visiting with Mr.
Taylor.
    Funeral services will be held Sunday from the Stone Church near
Cornell (the Stone Church is not very near Cornell - maybe 7 miles or so."

Margaret Elizabeth ARMSTRONG

1Obituary for Margaret Elizabeth Armstrong Wilson Palmer. "Obituary: for: Margaret Armstrong was born Nov.9th, 1842 in Green County, Illinois  ( 1843 in Missouri This is an error) and died at her home in Tipton Canyon on Driftwood Creek, 20 Jan 1927, aged 84 years, 2 months and 11 days.  She moved with her parents to Iowa and resided for a few years then moved to Sarpy County, Nebraska.  She was married to  Emory Wilson in 1869 and to this union were born three children, two of whom survive her:  Mrs. Nora Smith of Ava, Missouri and Mrs. Mary Ball of Los angeles, Calif.  She was married to William Palmer March, 1879 and to this union were born three children, two of whom survive her, Mrs Lena Randall and William D.
Palmer of Culbertson.  They moved to Hitchcock Co. to the home where they resided until recently, in 1884.  Mrs. Palmer died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.C. Randall.  Grandma had been in failing health for sometime and was taken seriously ill Jan 16.
She leaves to mourn, her husband, three daughters and one son, several grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.  Grandma Palmer was well known, being one of the early pioneers of Hitchcock Co. and will be missed by those who knew her.

Obituary: !  Funeral services were conducted from the Stone Church Sunday by Rev. L. L. Dewey and interment made in the Stone Church Cemetery.

William D. is buried at Trenton, Hitchock Nebraska.  The lady who sent Deanna Kleider all the info and obituarys knew him, his Stone says born 1882 and died 1973, he lived to be about 91 years old, the lady who knew him personally said at 85 he had perfect eyesight, and only one tooth missing.  He was a Blacksmith By Trade.  He is buried in the county portion of the Cemetery, but has a small stone.

MRS. NORA SMITH, 73 OF AFTON, IS DEAD;
    AFTON-Mrs. Nora Smith 73died at 1 P.M. Monday at the Greater Community hospital in Creston.  She had been in failing health for several years but entered the hospital only last week.
    Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church here at 2 p.m. Wednesday.  Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery here.
    Mrs. Smith was born at Springfield, Nebraska, March 3, 1871.  She came to Afton about seven years ago from Ava, Mo., and lived in town until about a year ago when she moved to the farm home of her daughter, Mrs. Ruby (Mabel) Wheeler.
    Surviving are two sons, George of Hamburg and John of Springfield, Nebraska; her daughter, Mrs Ruby (Mabel) Wheeler; and a sister, Mary Ball of Los Angeles, California.

August. 9 1953 she was united in marriage to Charles Hunt, who also preceded her in death.  Her church affiliation was with the Church of God at Trenton, Nebraska.
    She leaves to mourn her passing one brother, William D. Palmer of Trenton, one son Ernest Randall Jr. of Lincoln, and 5 daughters, Mrs. Charles Dewey of Milford, Mrs. Florence Cackler of Mc Cook, Mrs. Goldie Carpenter of Denver, Mrs. Nellie Keen of Bertrand, and Mrs. Pearl Ewing of Indianola, 21 grandchildren 41 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
    Bishop officiated with Merriman-Fritch Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial was in the Trenton Cemetery.

40. John Noe 5 (Daniel 4, Isaac 3, Jean 2, Pierre 1).  John Noe was born about 1770 and died in 1828. He  married Susanna Dunham who was born August 10, 1781 in Woodbridge, New Jersey and died August 18, 1876, Brooklyn, New York.  After he died Susanna married second, on February 23, 1852 in Woodbridge, to Thomas Eddy of Woodbridge, who died in 1870.  John was enrolled on the New Jersey militia census for Middlesex County in 1793 as “of Woodbridge, age 23.”  John was admitted to the Woodbridge Presbyterian Church, April 13, 1810 and Susannah was admitted to the same church October 11, 1811.  They were both dismissed to the Second Presbyterian Church, Woodbridge, May 5, 1825.  Susannah was readmitted on November 27, 1829 as “Susan, widow of John Noe”.
