ONAWA, Iowa: Special:
     Funeral services for Edward Lane, 57 prominent farmer of the Onawa area who died Monday in an Iowa City hospital after an illness of several months, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian church in Onawa.  Rev. Everett Epperson will officiate and burial will be in the Onawa cemetery under direction of the Pearson Funeral Home.
    Mr. Lane was born July 29, 1902, at Slayton, Minnesota.  He was a resident of the Onawa community 45 years.
    He married Minnie Birk in July of 1924, at Onawa.
    Mr. Lane was a member of the First Christian church of Onawa where he held several major offices.  He was a member of Monona lodge 223, I.O.O.F. and was president of the Illinois Central Elevator Company at Onawa.
    Survivors include the widow; a son, Charles e. Of New York City; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Fouts of Onawa and Mrs. Mary Ann McFarland of Whiting, and five grandchildren."
