""Boone's Path" but the general area of southeastern Virginia made famous by Daniel Boone and the westward path past the Cumberland Mountains into Kentucky, Tennessee and even into North Carolina. There is a Boons Path town in present day Lee County, Virginia but it is not to be confused with the "Boone's Path" area.
Our ancestors living in the "Boone's Path" area and may have not only lived in Virginia but in the immediate portions of Kentucky and Tennessee.
And it should be noted that Lee County, Virginia was formed from Russell County, Virginia in 1793!

satisfaction of this court by the oaths of Solomon Crabtree and Robert Stinson, two respectable witnesses that John Ball, George Ball and Jessee Ball who have acknowledged a power of attorney to William Ball are three of the children and heirs at law of George Ball, Sr., deceased, who died intestate and left 12 sons and daughters which is ordered to be certified."
The George Ball of Russell Co had a son, Moses Ball, b: 23 Dec. 1788 and d:
1866, m: Elizabeth Manor of Pike Co Ky. This marriage took place in Floyd Co.
Ky in 1820. His will is found in Will Book B, page 59, Pike Co. Court Nov. Term 1866. In Deed Book H, page 23 it mentions all Moses Ball's children.
State of Ky. Co. of Pike. 12 ch.
Moses Ball of Lee Co VA, m Elizabeth Yeary and had 12 children, and his Will
is found in Lee Co VA courthouse. Judge Cridlin of Lee Co Jonesville, Va.
told me on two or three occasions that this Moses Ball was either a brother or a nephew to my John Ball 1809. There has been much confusion on the two Moses Balls. George Ball - wife Elizabeth Tunnell had 12 ch.
George Ball whose wife was killed by Indians - we do not know how many ch. they had. We think John, Moses, Elizabeth, William and Martha Ball were 5 of the ch. of the Lee Co, George Ball.
William who was killed at the same time the Indians made a raid on and massacred the family of Archibald Scott. Martha married Henry Yeary. John, eldest son of George m Mary "Polly" Yeary and Moses m Elizabeth Yeary. I hope that I have clarified the two George Balls and the two Moses Balls. George Ball of Russell Co. whose wife was Elizabeth Tunnell, was often called captain.".".
