21880 Census for Charles Gibson Birth as about  1871:. "Charles Gibson was born in West Liberty, Muscatine Co., Iowa to A. P. and Cynthia, both born Ohio, according to the 1880 and 1885 Census.  Charles is listed as eight years old on the 1880 census, so that puts him born about 1871 or 1872.  The paper lists him as being 38 years old."

3Newspaper Article for Charles Gibson. "HANNIBAL MISSOURI January 29, 1909
GIBSON DIES IN HOSPITAL-MAN WHO WAS SHOT BY HIS WIFE SUCCUMBS TO BULLET WOUND.
    Charles Gibson, who was shot with a 32-calibre revolver by his wife, Ida Gibson Saturday night, January 17, died in the Levering hospital at 2 o'clock this afternoon.  The bullet lodged at the base of the brain and was never removed, the doctors thinking that he might recover.  To have attempted to remove it would have meant instant death.  Gibson had been a resident of Hannibal for several years, coming here from Illinois.  As yet funeral arrangements have not been made.:
Gibson was 38 years old and was member of Hannibal Camp No. 2129, Modern Woodmen of America, and had insurance for $1,000, his wife being the beneficiary named in the policy.
Besides his wife, Gibson leaves two small children who are now with their mother in the country.  As yet no funeral arrangements have been made.

No charge  will be brought against Mrs. Gibson, as the prosecuting attorney believes she shot in self defense.
FEB 1, 1909-WILL NOT BE PROSECUTED-BROTHERS OF CHARLES GIBSON TO TAKE NO ACTION-FUNERAL TOMORROW;
The funeral of Charles Gibson, who died from a bullet wound inficted by his wife, will be held tomorrow morning from O'Donnel's undertaking parlors.  It will be held between 9 and 10 o'clock and burial will be in Riverside cemetery.  A sister, Iona Miller from Iowa and three brothers, J.W. of Iowa, H.M., living on the Snl bottoms, and Clark living west of quincy on the Missouri side, are in the city and have taken charge of the remains."
