Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 1;30 o'clock at the smith funeral home for Christopher Layne. Rev. Clark buckner was in charge of the services and burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery.
Casketbearers were Robert quirk, Frank Otten, Claude Thomas, William Fry, Ed schulta, and Roy Gilbert.

Henry Layne died at 6:30 o'clock last evening at his home, 418 Church street. He was 47 years old, having been born October 8, 1869. Mr. Layne had been ill a week from pneumonia. He had lived here for several years. Mother Sarah E. Layne, his widow, Mrs.Iva Layne; brother, C.C. Layne of Mt. Zion, and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Billings of Hannibal, and Mrs Mackey of Fowler, Ill. The funeral arrangements will be made later."
