Laurence served in World War I. Laurence was one of the survivors of the Meuse-Argonne offensive in France.  He returned with no apparent injuries but I can remember that his steel helmet showed that a bullet had grazed it.
After Laurence returned home he married Tyra Larsen a sister of Marcus Larsen, and they also farmed near Mohall for many years.  They had one son, Floyd, who died during infancy and one daughter, Gladys, who is married to Clarence Bjergaard and they farm near Powers Lake, North Dakota.  They have one son, Floyd,  Laurence died of emphysema.  He had also worked at carpentering in Chicago."."

Hi Donna-
Thx for the update…I have not updated anything on line…I had started but as always I was waylaid…anyway, I checked what you had and all appears correct…the one thing that is incorrect is the location of where my grandmother died…Bertha Olsen Mattson died in Edmonton and was buried in Medicine Hat. You have Sidney as the place of her death but she never went back there after the birth of Walter.
Everyone else is still alive so we have been very fortunate within the family. The husbands of a couple sisters died but no offspring of Bertha and Hans since May’s death. I can’t recall exactly what I had sent.

We are well here in Edmonton and enjoying the beginning of summer. Trust all is well with your family.
If there is anything else you need to know about the family, just let me know..thx..Brenda."
