I exchanged some emails with you some time ago. I am descended from Alice J. Noe who married Amos J. Cherry in Macon Co, IL. Yesterday I found the death place and date for her father, Cyrenus Noe. He died in Blue Mound, Macon Co, IL, November 24, 1878. Amos and Alice (Noe) Cherry also lived in Blue Mound and are listed there in the 1880 census. I found the information on-line, in the Illinois Statewide Death Index for deaths before 1900. I was sure that you would want to know as he is also your Julia Etta's father.

1History of William Verity Noe b. 1828 NJ. "William Verity Noe 6 (John 5, Daniel 4, Isaac 3, Jean 2, Pierre 1) was born in June 1828 in New Jersey, after his father’s death, and died February 20, 1910 in Kings County, New York. He married on September 10, 1851 in New York City to Helen Mar Williams, daughter of John Williams, who was born July 1829 in New York. In the 1850 census of the Tenth Ward of New York City, William is recorded as a printer. In the 1850s and 1860s William worked as a gauger. A gauger was a customs official who measured the capacity of imported barrels of liquor in order to calculate the customs duty. In the 1879/80 edition of Lain’s Directory of Brooklyn, he is listed as operating a cigar store on Wall Street. By 1900 they were living in Monmouth County, New Jersey, where William was working as an “inspector [of] merchandise”.
