1Research at the FHC.  2. Hardwick-Petrie Researcher on Internet-Carolyn Fulmer. "Jemima's birth date conflicts with the birth date of her brother Hazel G. Petrie.  Andrew and Jemima lived in the Chester area throughout their marriage.  Following andrew's death Jemima emigrated to Lincoln Parish, Louisiana with most of her children. Jemima Petrie was born in Chester District of SC and her Grave Marker in Louisana gives her birth date as l5 Sep 1785, but thi8s conflicts with the birth date of her brother Hazel.

!In about 1806 Jemima married Andrew Feaster Colvin. Andrew was born on 30 March 1785 in Chester Co. SC.  Son of William Colvin and Martha Feaster.  Qilliam Colvin was born in 1762 Chester Co.,SC.He died 15 July 1835 in Green Co. Ala.

  The State of Alabama, Pickens County:  I do hereby certify that I, William Colvin, Sr., was born in the state of Virginia on or about the year 1763, and that when the Revolutionary War commenced I was living with my father in the State of South Carolina, Chester District.  In my first tower as a soldier I served under Capt. Frost in a tower in the year 1779 Under Col. Richard Winn - for three months - next under the command of said Frost for three months next tower under Capt. McCord in the regiment commanded by Colonel Winn for four months and a half - the next tower Commander in Chief for three months the next tower I served under Capt. Baker but can't recollect the length of servitude being old and infirm which closed my services and after the Revolutionary War I moved into the State of Alabama Green County where I now reside, which I certify this to be a correct statement of my servitude as near as I can recollect.
    Sworn to and subscribed Before this 31st Day of October 1834.
