She was remarried to James M. Annas on July 1, 1865, and shortly thereafter petitioned the district cour to be formally named a guardian for her three children by Ball- Sarah, William and Charles. so that she could claim a pension for them. Her securities for the guardianship were John L. and Mary Gordon, the wagonmaker and his wife in whose home she had lived as a child.
